5 Music Edtech Tools That Your Students Will Love

Music is so incredibly important. Music is a conversation starter and it can help build bonds with other people. Music can be therapeutic and can be what a student needs to get through the day. Today, I am sharing some of my favorite music edtech tools that are fun and will allow students to experiment with sounds.

Incredibox

Incredibox is one of my all time favorite music apps. This app allows someone to make beats using beatboxing avatars. What makes this edtech tool special is that no matter what avatar or sound you choose, the beat always sounds awesome. Students can create and record beats to use behind projects or play for fun.

Blob Opera

Similar to Incredibox, Blob Opera is a playful music edtech tool. The students can control four different blobs and use their mouse to make each blob sing a different opera sound. Blob Opera is a part of the Google Arts and Culture platform and is very easy to use. One of my favorite aspects of this edtech tool is that you can take the blobs on tour to different parts of the world and get to experience some pre-recorded tracks that are specific to the country you are in!

Mix Audio Tool

Produce beats & songs in the free online studio, remix tracks, collaborate with creators worldwide and listen to music by Audiotool artists. Compared to the previous two edtech tools, this tool is more advanced. To learn how to use this tool go to YouTube and watch a short demo and you will be remixing tracks in no time!

Plink

Plink is a multiplayer music experience that allows you to create music with anyone around the world (you can also make a private room). There isn’t a log-in to this edtech tool and there aren’t any chat boxes or ways to communicate or hand over personal information. It is all about playing and experiencing different types of instruments and making music!

Virtual Drumming

If anyone knows anything about me, they know I love music. I have an infatuation for drums and guitars, though I am not very good at either (can play some chords and beats at an elementary level). I love virtual drumming because it allows me to learn how to play drums through music making games and it also provides some free drum lessons for beginners, intermediate drummers, and sheet music.
