History of the Edtech Madness Bracket
It’s one of my favorite times of the year… It’s March Madness time! Now some people get excited for the March Madness NCAA Tournament, but my enthusiasm rests in the world of Edtech tools. Since 2019, Kyle Niemis (@Kyleniemis) has been running the Edtech Madness bracket with great success! Last year’s bracket concluded with over 30,000 votes placed on 16 amazing edtech tools! This year, the Edtech Throwdown podcast (formerly GotTechED the Podcast) is going to carry on the Kyle’s tradition as we bring you 12 edtech tools to vote on. No, we aren’t getting lazy this year and cutting down the number of awesome tools, we are throwing a twist into this year’s competition! Between March 7th and March 10th, you will have the opportunity to nominate an Edtech tool to enter the bracket as a wildcard!!! The edtech tools with the most nominations will earn a spot in the 2024 Edtech Madness tournament. Simply fill out this 1 question nomination form to nominate an edtech tool!

2024 Edtech Madness
This year you will see some familiar previous powerhouses edtech tools as well as some Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools that are making teacher’s lives easier by increasing productivity, enhancing student lessons, and increasing student engagement. These tools were selected based on teacher responses to surveys that we have collected at several professional developments that we have done over the past calendar year as well as soliciting nominations from teachers. While this method is not perfect, it’s a starting point and should still be a lot of fun! If you have a tool that you love, you still have a chance to get it in the bracket. Remember to fill out this 1 question nomination form to nominate an edtech tool! Our 12 confirmed tools are:
- Kami
- Nearpod
- Canva
- Blooket
