Our Journey
Nick Johnson and Eric Guise (goes by Guise) started their journey as teachers who shared an office. They would find themselves competing in everything from paper football launching to who could flip their classrooms most efficiently. These competitions led to friendship and eventually the start of GotTechED the Podcast in March of 2019. After the podcast started to gain momentum, they both started to present at conferences. One of their staple presentations is called the Edtech Throwdown. During this presentation, Nick and Guise would present 5-10 edtech tools and practices each. The audience would then vote to see who presented the best collection of resources. From the popularity and success of this presentation, Nick and Guise decided to rebrand the podcast to The Edtech Throwdown Podcast in January of 2024!
